Questions people ask

Which engine ECUs do you test and repair?

Bosch EDC15, EDC16, EDC17, MED17, ME7, ME9 and MEV17; Siemens/Continental SID, SIMOS and EMS; Delphi DCM; Valeo VD56; Marelli IAW; Denso, and BMW DME/DDE units. If yours isn't listed, send the part number and we'll tell you.

What faults can be repaired?

No start, no communication, injector driver faults (for example P0612 on the Valeo VD56.1), single-cylinder misfires, limp mode, water damage, burnt tracks and corrupted software after a failed remap.

How do I know it's the ECU and not the wiring?

Many ECUs sent for repair test fine. Check the fuses, earths and wiring first, or tell us the symptoms and fault codes in the form and we'll advise before you remove anything.

Do you test my ECU and quote before doing any work?

Only when testing has been discussed and confirmed with you beforehand. In that case we bench-test the ECU first and send a fixed quote, and you decide whether to go ahead. An ECU sent to us for cloning is not tested – we only read its data across to the replacement.

What if the ECU can't be repaired?

We stock thousands of tested used engine ECUs. We can clone your original's data onto a replacement so it fits plug & play with no dealer coding. See our ECU cloning service.

Do you work with garages and the motor trade?

Yes. Trade and retail customers across the UK and worldwide send ECUs to us by post.

Will my keys still work after a repair?

Yes. A repair keeps your original ECU and its immobiliser data, so nothing needs re-coding.
